Jordan King Reiterates Two-State Solution As Sole Way To Resolve Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

AMMAN, Oct 20 (NNN-PETRA) – King Abdullah II of Jordan, met on Saturday, with a U.S. delegation, stressing the need to reach just, lasting and comprehensive peace, on the basis of the two-state solution, to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The meeting with the delegation, headed by U.S. House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, also covered the cooperation and strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, as well as, regional developments.

Jordan Denies Reports Of Extending Land Lease To Israel

AMMAN, Oct 17 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan, on Wednesday, denied Israeli media reports that, Jordan had agreed to renew an agreement which leases part of the kingdom’s lands to Israel.

Jordanian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Sufian Qudah, said, Jordan did not agree to renew or extend this agreement with Israel, according to a foreign ministry statement.

Last year’s decision to terminate the deal was final, Qudah added.

In Oct, 2018, Jordan officially informed Israel of its decision not to renew an agreement that leases part of its lands to Israel.

IMF Concludes Visit To Jordan To Assess Economic Developments

AMMAN, Jordan, Sept 29 (NNN-PETRA) – An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, concluded its recent visit to Jordan, to assess recent economic developments in the country, said a statement by the IMF on Saturday.

The new mission Chief for Jordan, Chris Jarvis, was introduced during the visit, it said.

A mission to complete the third review of the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) will take place after IMF holds its annual meetings in Oct, the statement added.

Jordan, Tunisia Reaffirm Two-State Solution As Sole Way To End Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

AMMAN, Sept 10 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan and Tunisia reaffirmed their stance that the two-state solution is the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The two sides stressed the need to fulfil the Palestinians’ rights and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative, according to a statement by Jordan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Jordan, Sweden stress need for continued support to UN relief agency

AMMAN, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Swedish counterpart Margot Wallstrom on Sunday underlined the need for ensuring that the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) can continue to provide services to Palestinian refugees.

Disused plane sunk in Jordan's Aqaba to enrich marine habitat

AMMAN, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in Jordan on Monday sunk a disused commercial aircraft to Aqaba's Underwater Military Museum Dive Site to help boost marine life.

Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein attended the ceremony, according to the Jordan News Agency Petra.

The underwater museum has been opened for divers and snorkellers to explore military machines stationed along coral reefs imitating a tactical formation.

Jordan parliament calls for expelling Israel ambassador

20 Aug 2019; MEMO: The Jordanian parliament yesterday recommended the Israeli ambassador to Amman be expelled as a result of Israel’s violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Quds Press reported.

Officials also called for re-evaluating the mutual treaties between the two countries.

The recommendation was made during an emergency parliamentary meeting held to discuss the Israeli violations in Jerusalem and at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Germany Reaffirms Support To Two-State Solution To Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

AMMAN, Jordan, Aug 20 (NNN-PETRA) – Germany’s Defence Minister, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, on Monday, stressed her country’s support for the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The German minister made the remarks, after a meeting with Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi in Amman, where she said, the two-state solution represents a good foundation for the Palestinians and the Israelis.
